Is it possible to copy DVD if I have a single DVD drive?
Our DVD copy software can work both with single drive and multiple DVD drives. If you have the only DVD drive it must
be a DVD-recorder which means it must be able to write to a DVD disk. When you copy DVD with your drive DVD copying program
first copies DVD to hard disk into a temporary file. It requires some room on your hard drive for a few minutes.
Then Copy DVD software asks you to remove a source DVD from the drive and insert a blank disk. Then it starts writing
a copy to this blank DVD.
If you have two drives DVD copier program can copy directy from one drive to another without any intermediate files.
The DVD copying process is faster in this case since DVD copy program reads and writes simultaneously. In this case just
one of two drives have to be a DVD-recorder, another one may be just a DVD-reader.
Does copying protected DVDs means the DVD copy to be unprotected?
When DVD copier disables DVD copy protection it doesn't recreate it in the DVD copy, so yes, the copy is unprotected and
may be easily watched on any device whatever the region is. Note that there are some protections that cannot be disabled and
DVD won't be copied in this case.
Is there any way to copy DVD to CD?
Currently we don't have such functionality in our software to compress and copy DVD to a blank CD. However copying DVD movies to CD
will be added into the next versions of DVD Shrinker tool.
Does your DVD copy software require DL-DVD for copying?
It depends. If you want to make a true copy, which is also called 1:1 copy you have to use
One-click CD&DVD Copy
program. It's able to copy your DVDs "as is" and that's why it does require Double-layer 9Gb DVD (DVD-9) blank disks to
make a DVD copy.
Another DVD copying methods is called "DVD shrinking" which supposes some compression added to your DVD movies. It doesn't
add any noticable picture quality loss, but it's not a "true" copy. DVD copy software which make such DVD copying is
One-click DVD Shrinker and it requires regular DVD-R or DVD+R or DVD-RW disks rather than expensive DVD9. This DVD copy
tool allows you to shrink DVD movie to a smaller DVD disk without any actual quality loss.
Both programs mentioned above are able to copy protected DVD disks and CSS-encrypted DVD movies.
Does the picture quality reduces when copy DVD to DVD-R?
When you copy DVD movies to DVD-R disk copying software compresses video to make it fit an ordinary DVD which is
of twice smaller capacity. Any compression adds some distortions and such a DVD copy isn't a 1:1 copy anymore.
However these distortions are hard to seen and felt in most cases so when you watch such a movie it looks exactly like a 'true'
DVD copy.
So, the answer is: yes, DVD-9 to DVD-5 copying reduces picture quality but you won't notice it is actually reduced.
Do these DVD programs copy DVD movies only?
We have DVD copy software which can copy any kind of DVD disks, end even CDs. For example you can use
One-click CD DVD Copy

your disk keeping its structure "as is". It easily copy DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, CD-R, CD-RW discs. Of course this DVD copier
can copy DVD movies as well, including copy-protected DVDs.

Clone DVD. These CD&DVD copy programs preserve CDs structure and audio quality during copying.

video file. You may control quality and movie filesize. Note that AVI movies are compressed higher than 'real' DVD copies and some
distortions take place.
How to burn DVD copy from ISO back to DVD?

DVD burner program, it will help you to burn .iso DVD copy back to DVD.
Is it possible to make DVD copying somehow faster?
DVD copying speed depends on various factors. First is your DVD drive speed, and especially maximum speed your drive can read/write some particular
DVD. Some DVDs are read faster, some are slower. We cannot force this process with our DVD copy software since it is controlled by your DVD drive's
firmware. In some cases your computer's overall performance may influence on DVD copying performance as well, but usually PCs are powerful
enough to process DVD copying easy.
Will it copy CSS-protected DVD?
Yes, CSSed DVD disks are copied just fine with our DVD copy applications. They will be copied much like other protected DVDs.
How much time does it takes to make a DVD copy?
It depends. Usually it takes from 30 to 50 minutes, but this value may be higher or lower depending on your DVD drive and PC performance.
